All cameras welcome!

Tacoma Photo Club started, like most good things, with a few photography nerds finding each other on the internet.
In August 2023, Matt, Melissa, and Adam connected through social media and met up at the Tacoma Photo Center to talk shop. What was supposed to be a casual hang quickly turned into something bigger. We realized we were all circling the same idea in Tacoma: a real community for people who actually love photography. A place to show up, make work, trade ideas, learn from each other, and get a little too excited about cameras, without the gatekeeping, the pressure to “qualify,” or any of the usual nonsense.
So we decided to build it ourselves.
Tacoma Photo Club was born from that conversation, with Tyler joining the crew a year later. What started with a few people talking about photography has since grown into an eclectic community of photographers and creatives from across the region.
Our members shoot just about everything imaginable: film, digital, portraits, landscapes, street photography, heavy-metal shows, experimental work, your neighbor's weird garage, a really good-looking puddle. You get the idea.
We host free monthly meetups for photographers and creatives of all skill levels, backgrounds, and disciplines. Some of us have been shooting for decades, others are just figuring it out, but what connects us is simple: showing up, making things, and being part of a creative community.
We take photography seriously. Ourselves, considerably less so.
Whether you’re a professional or have no idea what ISO is, you’re welcome here. Come make photos, meet people, and be a part of something.
